An Open Letter to DC’s Future Mayor
The Executive Appointee rubric is a tool built by our Coalition members for DC’s incoming mayor to have a quantifiable way to assess potential appointees against a set of criteria meant to help identify quality and accountable appointed officials.
Our hope is that our next mayor is able to use this rubric to assess their potential appointees against our seven areas of criteria to ensure that our future agency heads have the skill, experience, and willingness to stand up in defense of our local decision-making and DC’s autonomy itself.

Executive Appointee Scoring Rubric

their policy decisions must be upheld by those who are in charge of implementing our budget.
