Joanna currently serves as the Government Affairs Director of DC Action, a FBC member and
the convener of 3 Districtwide coalitions collectively representing hundreds of child/youth-related
direct service providers, community-based organizations, and District residents. She has nearly
20 years of policy, tax, and budget advocacy experience and has served District residents as
both a Council staffer (former Legislative Director for CM Lewis George) and social justice
advocate and organizer for multiple child, family, and worker wellbeing causes.

In keeping with DC Action’s mission, Joanna is passionate about creating a District where every
child and family has the resources and opportunities to thrive and reach their full potential.
