Jacqueline’s political work and organizing experience align closely with the mission of the Fair
Budget Coalition and its shared leadership model. FBC’s political education and values have
directly shaped her through my participation in the Constituent Leadership Program (CLP).

Being a CLP fellow helped her understand budget justice as a real problem for Black and Brown
working-class people in DC who have trouble finding stable housing, getting services that aren’t
fully funded, and are left out of the system, rather than merely a policy issue.

Her work with the DC Latino Caucus (DCLC) has given her hands-on experience in coalition
governance, community accountability, and political strategy within a membership-based
organization.
