Claire Mills
Chesapeake Climate Action Network

Claire Mills (she/her) is the DC Campaigns Manager at the Chesapeake Climate Action
Network. At CCAN, Claire organizes for climate justice — from making polluters pay for the
climate crisis to lowering utility bills for DC families with cheaper, cleaner energy. Claire got her
start organizing a successful campaign for fossil fuel divestment at American University and has
organized in her volunteer time with DC’s campaign for public power—We Power DC— and as
a Steering Committee member of the DSA’s Green New Deal Campaign Commission.

Over the last year, Claire supported FBC’s economic justice and fair taxes advocacy, because
her values are rooted in the belief that there is more than enough to go around. Prior to CCAN,
Claire worked at the Rights and Resources Initiative, working on land rights advocacy for
Indigenous People across the world. Claire has lived in DC since 2018 and speaks English and
Spanish. In her free time, you can find Claire enjoying a bike ride through Rock Creek Park and
cooking vegan meals with friends.
