The Constituent Leadership Program (CLP) is an 11-month paid program running from March-February. The program was created to center the voices, power, and wisdom of DC residents who are impacted by racial inequity, economic oppression (systemic poverty), and systemic racism.

We do this because, as it stands, our budget and budget processes explicitly funnel power from communities of impact to a few power holders (like council and the Mayor). With this power, these folks create and maintain systemic inequalities such as housing injustice, lack of access to food, public safety, quality education, economic justice and more.

It is our goal to create a fair budget and fair budget process to meet the needs of the people. To do this we need the People to be part of the process, and we want to invest in the ability of those most impacted to do this through organizing, advocating, and budget policy.
