Future Workshop Topics

Identity Politics

The term was first used by Black feminists to describe their political motivations. In this Workshop, we will talk about the origins of Identity Politics and how native Washingtonians get involved in local politics.

Budget 101

This Workshop helps participants break down the DC budget, understand the DC budget cycle and assess the impact of local tax revenue.

FBC Member organizations may request a Budget 101 for your group, or for Workshops beyond the regular schedule. Contact us to discuss.

Tax 101

In order to create an equitable budget that meets the needs of DC residents, a tax structure is needed that makes sure everyone pays their fair share. This Workshop discusses how taxes play a role in establishing a racially just budget with a robust safety net.
